A scholarship program facilitated by GFA LAW, PLLC in memory of David Towfic Amad, Vice President of Open Carry Texas, for students who share his passion for civil liberties and the Bill of Rights.
David Towfic Amad was a devoted father, a passionate advocate, and a true Texas patriot who spent his life on the front lines of constitutional defense. As the Vice President of Open Carry Texas, David’s influence was instrumental in the historic advancement of open, campus, and unlicensed carry rights in the Lone Star State.
Beyond the legislation he helped secure, David was known for his mastery of verbal judo, a competence in communication and de-escalation that allowed him to defend fundamental rights with both tactical precision and unshakeable grace. Whether defending the Alamo or speaking at rallies across the state, his integrity left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
The 1791 Scholarship is named in honor of the year the Bill of Rights was ratified. It represents the unwavering commitment to the principles David lived by: that the right to self-defense and the right to free expression are the foundations of a free society.
GFA LAW, PLLC is proud to facilitate this memorial program to support students who demonstrate a similar passion for civil liberties and the courage to advocate for the “underdog” in the face of government overreach.
We invite students who embody David’s spirit of advocacy and constitutional reverence to submit their application for the current memorial cycle. Use the Apply Now button below to open the application form.
